Douglas Hand
Douglas Hand is a founding member of the firm and an accomplished corporate and transactional lawyer advising businesses, financial institutions, and individuals across multiple industries including fashion, media and sports.
Mr. Hand began his legal career in the New York and Paris offices of Sherman & Sterling, representing domestic and international clients in public and private transactions. Notable deals include representing Citicorp in its merger with Travelers and representing Fiat S.p.A. in its strategic alliance with General Motors.
Mr. Hand has represented fashion/lifestyle companies of all size throughout his career. As a member of the Business Advisory Committee of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as well as the CFDA’s Fashion Incubator Program, he is an active participant in the industry serving on speaking panels and advising member fashion companies. Mr. Hand has also been asked to join the advisory board of the Fashion Law Institute of Fordham Law School which covers intellectual property, business and finance, international trade and government regulation in the fashion industry.
A former NCAA athlete in three sports and an avid fan, Mr. Hand is a frequent contributor and speaker at conferences in the business of sports and entertainment. In 2009, Mr. Hand was named the Vice Chair of the Sports Division of the American Bar Association’s Sports and Entertainment Forum.
Mr. Hand is admitted to practice in New York.
